Synopsis:
This documentary deals with the situation of the Ladino language today. Its roots are to be found in the 15th century Spanish language with words that have been integrated over the centuries. It is the language of the Sephardic Jews, of those expelled from the Iberian Peninsula in the 15th and 16th centuries. Thessaloniki became the center of the language until the arrival of the Nazis who exterminated almost all the Sephardic people in the city. Only 2,000 of them survived and most of them have emigrated to Israel.
