Synopsis:
The movie recounts the development of the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Buenos Aires, within the context of Argentine cultural and political life in the second half of the 20th century. Founded under the leadership of the Italian immigrant Gino Germani, it rapidly evolved into a center of thought and debate, and it became the starting point of modern Social Sciences in Argentina.
Biophilmography:
Guillermo De Carli is a documentary filmmaker, who started out as a photographer. His latest works deal with the Argentine anarchist tradition, amateur rural singers, and the spread of home-made technologies for agricultural production. He is currently working on a film about Liborio Justo, the initiator and key figure of Trotskyism in Argentina. He is a professor and researcher at the University of Buenos Aires.
