Synopsis:
Based on the life of the filmmaker Julio García Espinosa, the documentary establishes a reflection on the rise and development of the new Cuban cinematography, its achievements, struggles, contradictions and comparisons with the dogmatic thinking that at times seems to dominate the Cuban political-cultural spectrum; the always difficult, risky and necessary relationship between officials and artists; and the closed and united defence of the filmmakers around their film policy.

Biophilmography:
He studied Political Science at the University of Havana. He joined the ICAIC in 1959, where he acquired extensive experience as a filmmaker, most notably "Girón" (1972). He has been a professor at EICTV and ISA.
