Synopsis:
This documentary is about the life of Rita, a highlander woman who flew from her small native community in the Sierra Tarahumara and set forth to Kansas, where she was arrested and hospitalized aginst her will for 12 years in a psychiatric hospital until the authorites could determine who she was, where she came from and what language she spoke.

Santiago Esteinou is a documentary filmmaker and producer from Mexico City. He studied cinematography in Mexico’s Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica and Temple University, in Philadelphia. Later he completed a master's degree in Human Rights and Democracy at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences. Filmography: Los años de Fierro (2014), La Mujer de Estrellas y Montañas (2023).
