Ernesto on Earth is a film that undertakes a historical journey through the life of the revolutionary poet turn priest Ernesto Cardenal, capturing his essence, the legacy of his human experience and his spiritual commitment until the last days of his life. Through a poetic approach, the movie retells the revolutionary history of Nicaragua using Ernesto's words and actions

Manuel Alejandro Bonilla is a young Nicaraguan filmmaker born in Nicaragua. His family moved to San José, Costa Rica when he was 11 years old. He worked as a salesman and at odd jobs, until he shot with friends and colleagues his first and only film, Ernesto on Earth as a passion project, out of respect and awe for Ernesto Cardenal.Screenplay:
