Synopsis:
The highest peaks of the mountains rage rise above the clouds. Sometimes they seem to merge with the sky. There is no god and neither there is devil. We are in the heights of the Peruvian Andes, more than 5000 meters above sea level. Celestino is a peasant hermit (51) accompanied by his ramshackle family, formed by his daughter Yaquelin (17) and his mother-in-law Mama Agustina (85). They survive the inclemency of time and height.

Mauricio Franco Tosso is a Peruvian filmmaker, whose work ranges between fiction, documentary and experimental. Samichay his feature film debut premiered at the 24th Lima Film Festival 2020 in the midst of the global pandemic; almost receiving the awards on behalf of the jury of the Ministry of Culture for best national feature film and best first feature.
