Synopsis:

In the border town of Malpaso Braulio works with his grandfather while his twin, Candido, remains secluded due to his albinism. After their grandfather passes, Braulio will look after Candido, who dreams of the return of their absent father.

Biophilmography:

Héctor M. Valdez (Santo Domingo, 1989) graduated from McGill University in Montreal, QC. He began making short films as a teenager and made his feature-length debut in 2013. His follow-up film, Melocotones, premiered at the Montreal World Film Festival in 2017 and garnered the ‘Film of the Festival’ award at the Raindance Film Festival. He then followed up with Malpaso (premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival), his third feature-length film, which won the Silver Biznaga at the Málaga Film Festival and Best International Feature at the 2020 New York Latino Film Festival.
