Synopsis:
Three stories that intertwine during the patron saint's celebration in San Mateo, a village of the Mixtec Oaxaca. María buries her mother, her father rejects her and, in uncertainty and pain, she proposes to Piedad, her childhood love, to leave with her. Esteban returns after three years only to discover that Chabela, his wife, is living with another man. Toña relieves her own pain in the face of the abuse of her daughter when she returns to confront her family in order to protect her.

Biophilmography:
Originally from the Oaxacan Mixteca, Angeles Cruz is an actress, director and screenwriter. She has participated in films such as Traición by Ignacio Ortiz and El violín by Francisco Vargas. Her promising emergence as a filmmaker and screenwriter was in 2012 with the short film La tiricia o cómo curar la tristeza, produced by the Mexican Institute of Cinematography, for which she won the Ariel for Best Short Film in 2013 and other awards. Nudo Mixteco is her debut film.
